Young people collaborate to pen the subsequent phase of harmony
The Vietnam Summer Camp 2025 is set to take place from July 13 to 26, 2025, bringing together over 100 young individuals from 31 countries and territories for a unique cultural and heritage experience.
The camp, themed "Together, Let's Write the Next Chapter of Peace," aims to connect participants with Vietnam’s history, culture, and values. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang and Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Truong Cong Thai were present at the official opening ceremony in Dak Lak Province.
The program takes participants on a journey across multiple Vietnamese provinces, including Ho Chi Minh City, Dak Lak, Quang Ngai, Danang, Quang Tri, Nghe An, Ninh Binh, and Hanoi. Highlights include visits to historical landmarks such as the Ho Chi Minh Statue and Nha Rong Wharf, the Reunification Hall, and the Cu Chi Tunnels.
Participants will also engage in heritage and cultural exchange programs, exploring unique traditions like gong music and other local cultural elements, especially in the Central Highlands. Community and charitable activities are also a significant part of the program, with participants supporting ethnic minority communities in various provinces.
Another highlight is the special exchange program with officers and soldiers at the Vietnam Department of Peacekeeping Operations, aligning with the peace-focused camp theme and giving participants insight into Vietnam’s role in global peacekeeping.
Deputy Minister Ha ng expressed hope that participants would leave with lasting memories, new friendships, and a deeper love for Vietnam. Vice Chairman Thai described the camp as a vivid demonstration of friendship, unity, and forward-looking vision. He also emphasised Dak Lak Province's readiness to accompany younger generations, both in Vietnam and abroad, in building a prosperous, civilised, and culturally rich nation.
In summary, the Vietnam Summer Camp 2025 is a rich cultural immersion program combining heritage education, community engagement, and peace advocacy for young overseas Vietnamese to deepen their understanding and connection with their homeland while contributing to the promotion of peace values.
The camp also integrates an AI-based simulation, allowing participants to experience and contemplate possible scenarios of space wars in the future, emphasizing the importance of peace and unity in a global context.
During their travels, participants will witness the evolution of Vietnam's lifestyle throughout the country, observing how its culture has adapted to a digital age, and conversing with locals to gain insights.
Upon returning home, camp participants are encouraged to incorporate elements of their Vietnamese heritage into their own lifestyles and share their experiences through travel blogs and other lifestyle platforms, fostering cross-cultural connections and understanding.
