The city of Düsseldorf was recently graced with a night of enchanting performances, heartfelt tributes, and enduring traditions at the annual gala event of the Düsseldorf Radschläger.

The evening began with a captivating performance, as the Düsseldorf dialect version of Willy Rosen's "What is the man doing on the veranda" echoed through the halls. The night also paid tribute to the Grafenberg clinic, a beacon of hope for those facing psychological challenges.

Gerty Rohr, the new president of the Düsseldorf Radschläger, presided over the event with grace and poise. She was joined by Matthias Knieps, who served as session president for the evening.

Music played a significant role in the festivities, with Günter Korth performing the "big Zing" from "Et Nina" by Pänz in de Bütt. The group itself also took the stage, creating a special atmosphere with old Düsseldorf carnival songs.

Prince Markus I and Venetian Evelyn entertained the crowd in both small and large halls during the reception, adding a touch of royal elegance to the proceedings. The evening also saw a surprise performance, the details of which were kept under wraps until the big reveal.

The Blau-Weiß Büderich dance guard enchanted the audience with their fantastic dances, while Johanna and Gabriel from Pänz in de Bütt expressed their wish for a father-free old town, albeit in a playful and humorous manner.

The event was not without its moments of recognition and appreciation. Harald Hintzen, a member of the Düsseldorf Radschläger for 34 years, received the "Golden Radschläger" for his long-standing membership. Günter Korth, a veteran of the Düsseldorf Carnival, stepped down as president of the Düsseldorf Radschläger and was awarded the Order of Foolishness by Prince Andreas I and Venetian Evelyn.

The evening also saw the return of Christiane and Barbara Oxenfort, who began their journey with the Düsseldorf Radschläger at the tender ages of 4 and 7. They returned to their roots, adding a touch of nostalgia to the celebrations.

In 2024, Dominik Sievers took over the presidency of the Düsseldorf Radschläger following Günter Korth's resignation after 44 years. Siegfried, Siggi, Lucas serves as the 1st Chairman of the Düsseldorf Radschläger under Sievers' leadership.

The communal meal and the performances created a memorable experience for all in attendance, as the Düsseldorf Radschläger once again proved their commitment to preserving and celebrating the city's rich carnival traditions.
