Weekend Bliss in Wuppertal: Saturday Shines Brightly
Get ready for an exciting weekend of board game fun in Wuppertal, Germany! From September 13 to 15, 2023, the city will be hosting Stadt-Land-Spielt!, a non-profit project that has been bringing communities together through the power of games since 2013.
This year, the event will take place at two locations: the Zentralbibliothek (Kolpingstraße 8) and "Aufbruch am Arrenberg" (Fröbelstraße 1A). Participants can enjoy a wide range of card, skill, or party games from various game publishers, catering to kids, families, gaming enthusiasts, and curious minds alike.
The event in Wuppertal is free of charge and open to the public, making it an accessible and enjoyable experience for all. Other partners of the project include the German Games Archive of the city of Nuremberg, the Herne Games Center, and the Drübberholz Games Center, contributing to the event's success and reach.
The board game industry is wholeheartedly supporting this project, with game publishers such as Amigo, Asmodee, Denkriesen, Game Factory, HABA, Hans im Glück Verlag, HeidelBÄR Games, Jumbo, KENDi, Kosmos, PegasusSpiele, Piatnik, Ravensburger, and SimbaToys with Zoch and Noris serving as main sponsors.
At "Aufbruch am Arrenberg", waffles, pastries, and drinks will be available for a donation, adding to the festive atmosphere. No registration is required for the event, so feel free to drop by and join in the fun!
Stadt-Land-Spielt! aims to connect people beyond local or social origins, generations, and physical and mental abilities. By promoting the cultural heritage of games, the project encourages people to engage in board games as a means of fostering social connections and inclusivity.
