VW Group Logistics Chief Outlines Decarbonization Roadmap at ALSC Europe

Oliver Bronder, managing director of vehicle logistics at VW Group Logistics, recently shared insights at the ALSC Europe conference. He highlighted the strategic shift of logistics within the VW Group, driven by a commitment to enhance reliability for end customers.

Bronder revealed that VW Group Logistics has a clear roadmap for decarbonising its operations. This includes boosting train capacity, integrating electric trucks, and employing LNG ships. The division is also exploring the future use of synthetic fuels like ammonia to power vessels.

In response to recent capacity challenges, VW Group Logistics temporarily increased its use of chartered trucks. However, operations have since returned to normal levels. The division has also made strides in improving demand and capacity forecasting, with a focus on digitalisation and transparency.

VW Group Logistics, under Bronder's leadership, is transforming logistics into a strategic advantage. By embracing sustainability and enhancing operational efficiency, the division is committed to delivering reliable service to VW Group's customers.
