VinFast's Indian-Made EVs Transform Buyers' Perception

Electric vehicles (EVs) are gaining traction in India, with sales surging 53 percent in the first half of 2025. This growth is driven by innovative models like VinFast's VF 6 and VF 7, produced locally in Tamil Nadu. These SUVs are transforming Indian buyers' perception of EVs from frugal green machines to tech-rich companions.

VinFast, a Vietnamese automaker, entered the Indian market in 2025 with its electric SUVs VF 6 and VF 7. Manufactured in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, these models cater to Indian buyers' preference for advanced technology and features over just lower running costs and emissions reduction.

A man in Delhi experienced this shift firsthand. Initially skeptical, he now appreciates how his electric SUV anticipates his needs, protects him in traffic, and eases long commutes. VinFast's models offer extensive safety features, advanced connectivity, and certified ranges up to 532 km. Quick charging capabilities, with a 10-70 percent charge in roughly 25 minutes, ensure convenience. Buyers now expect EVs to provide intelligent features like intuitive navigation and assistance systems, not just long ranges and fast charging.

VinFast's VF 6 and VF 7, produced in India, are leading the charge in changing Indian car buyers' perception of EVs. By offering affordable premium models packed with advanced technology, these SUVs are turning EVs into everyday companions, making Indian buyers see beyond just lower running costs and emissions reduction.
