Urban Symphony: Musical Performance by Buddenbrooks - Literary Concert on September 27 at Church Zum Heilsbrunnen
The city of Bergisch Gladbach is set to host a unique event as part of the "Sounds of the City" series. On September 27th, at 7:00 PM, the Evangelical Church Zum Heilsbrunnen in the Hebborn district will play host to a new adaptation of Thomas Mann's Nobel Prize-winning work, "Buddenbrooks".
Entitled "Music with the Buddenbrooks", this concert is a collaboration between Literaturkonzert Köln and Wir für Bergisch Gladbach e.V. Sibylle Bertsch, a graduate of the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart, and Cosmin Boeru, a pianist born in Craiova, Romania, will present a new literary concert in Bergisch Gladbach.
Music plays a significant role in Thomas Mann's "Buddenbrooks", sparking various emotions within the family. Excerpts from the concert will illustrate the power and impact of music in the novel, as well as Mann's life. The concert will feature music that was part of the novel and Mann's life.
Cosmin Boeru, a sought-after chamber music partner and soloist throughout Europe, graduated with distinction from the Conservatorio B. Marcello in Venice in 1999. He has given several concerts and recitals as part of "Sounds of the City" and teaches at the renowned Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne.
Sibylle Bertsch, founder of Literaturkonzert Köln, has a versatile repertoire that includes classical roles, comedic, boulevard, and musical experiences. The concert promises to be a captivating blend of literature and music, as Sibylle Bertsch brings the characters of "Buddenbrooks" to life through her performance.
This is the fourth event with Sibylle Bertsch and Cosmin Boeru organized by Wir für Bergisch Gladbach e.V. Ingrid Schaeffer-Rahtgens and Ingrid Koshofer, the event organizers, have jointly arranged multiple events, including the "Sounds of the City" event with Sibylle Bertsch and Cosmin Boeru, and are involved in cultural activities such as the opening of the Butscha-Platz and Atelieretage in Bergisch Gladbach.
