The potential Alien vs. Predator film envisioned by Fede Alvarez might never materialize.

The Director of Alien: Romulus Proposes Inspiring Concept for Reviving the Crossover series, Yet Implementation Seems Impractical or Unfeasible.

The potential Alien vs. Predator film envisioned by Fede Alvarez might never materialize.

During a recent Alien: Romulus screening with Collider, director Fede Alvarez opened up about potentially diving back into the Alien franchise, specifically an Alien vs. Predator crossover film. Surprisingly, he's given some thought to this project, but admits that his ideal version would be difficult to execute.

"The way I would do it, most likely, if it could be done this way... It's harder to keep secrets online," he admitted to Collider. "The best AVP will be the one that you don't know is AVP until the other guy shows up." In this version, viewers would believe they're watching a Predator movie, only to be surprised by the arrival of Xenomorphs. Alvarez thinks this approach would deliver an exhilarating twist.

However, in our current age of internet spoiler culture, one might wonder if such a surprise could actually fly. After all, covering Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth in giant raincoats didn't prevent their Wicked cameos from being spotted. Regardless, any Alien or Predator production would likely have signature set pieces and iconic weapons, making a surprise reveal more challenging.

Alvarez previously considered the element of surprise for Alien: Romulus, intending to keep the film's title obscured and incorporate a surprise reveal. His original plan was to mislead viewers until the moment they saw an egg in the film. Unfortunately, this didn't end up happening, but Alvarez did manage to keep Rook's appearance under wraps until the film's release.

As for another Alien vs. Predator film, Alvarez seems open to working with fellow director Dan Trachtenberg, currently steering the Predator franchise with Predator: Badlands. While Alvarez can't speak for Trachtenberg, he suggested that a potentially compelling version could arise if they both share the ambition to bring it to life.

Meanwhile, for more entertainment news, keep an eye out for the latest Marvel, Star Wars, and Star Trek releases. Stay up-to-date on the DC Universe's film and TV plans, and brace yourself for the future of Doctor Who.

Alvarez mentioned that executing his ideal Alien vs. Predator film might be challenging due to online secrecy issues, as seen with Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth's Wicked cameos. He expressed hope that a crossover film with Dan Trachtenberg could be compelling, considering their shared ambition for the project. In the ideal Alien vs. Predator movie, viewers would initially believe they're watching a Predator film, only to be surprised by the appearance of Xenomorphs on screen.
