Swedish Teens Arrive in Greifswald for Cultural Exchange
Fifteen teenagers and two teachers from Lund, Sweden, have arrived in Greifswald, Germany, for a week-long exchange program. The visit marks the latest iteration of an exchange that has been ongoing since 2001 with Polhemskolan in Lund.
The Swedish students were officially welcomed at the town hall today. During their stay, they will live with host families to fully immerse themselves in daily German life. The exchange includes shared experiences with students from the Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Gymnasium. Some Swedish students are learning German, while others are honing their Swedish language skills.
Planned excursions include a train ride to Berlin and a shared day on Usedom Island. Today, everyone will cycle together to Wieck and the Eldena monastery ruins. Later in the week, they will hike through the Söderåsen nature reserve and visit Målmó during their time in Lund. In early October, Greifswald teenagers will return the visit, spending a week in their Swedish partner city.
The exchange program between Greifswald and Lund continues to foster cultural understanding and language learning. The Swedish students' visit to Greifswald is packed with activities, from cycling tours to cultural visits, ensuring a memorable experience for all involved.
