Summertime bookings for vacation properties on the rise

In the heart of summer, Germany is witnessing a surge in demand for vacation accommodations, with August and July bookings reaching unprecedented levels. According to the travel analysis platform Hometogo, an impressive 81 percent of vacation accommodations in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern are already booked for August, and 76 percent for July.

This trend is not limited to coastal destinations. City trips to Berlin and Hamburg are also in high demand, as people seek a blend of urban excitement and holiday relaxation.

However, not all destinations are equally popular. In St. Peter-Ording, only 18 percent of accommodations are available in July and 15 percent in August. On the other hand, Binz, Warnemünde, Kühlungsborn, Timmendorfer Strand, Norderney, Berlin, and Hamburg continue to be popular travel destinations for the summer months.

Camping sites, a staple of German holidays, are no exception to the high demand. The Federal Association of the Camping Industry in Brandenburg (BVCD) is experiencing a surge in bookings, and many camping sites along the German coast are almost fully booked for the summer holidays.

Jörg Klofski, the operator of a camping site at Schervenzsee and the vice-president of the BVCD, shared that they are struggling to keep up with the influx of emails and calls. Despite the busy season, Mr. Klofski still has a few places left at his camping site.

The good news is that camping sites in Brandenburg have reopened since Friday, offering a chance for those still seeking a camping holiday. Popular choices on the booking portal Booking.com include family-friendly stays and accommodations with pools, such as Wilmina Hotel, Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin, The Ritz-Carlton Berlin, Schrebenza, NaturApartments – Hideaway & Spa, and Villa Tropicana Berlin Potsdam.

As the summer unfolds, the outlook remains positive, with high demand for vacation accommodations across Germany. Whether you prefer the bustling city life or the tranquil coast, there's a holiday destination waiting for you this summer.
