Romanian airline AnimaWings aims to amass an 18-aircraft fleet valued over $1 billion by year-end 2027
AnimaWings Expands Its Fleet and Reaches for the Skies
AnimaWings, a Romanian airline with a European vision and significant investment, has taken a major step forward in its mission to put Romania on the map of European aviation. The airline has received its fifth Airbus aircraft, an A220-300, marking a significant milestone in its growth.
Founded in 2020 as part of the Memento Group, which also includes Christian Tour, AnimaWings is a 100% Romanian company. The airline's founders, who are part of the Memento Group, aim to prove that Romania can build a strong aviation project.
The A220-300 is the third of this type for AnimaWings and will serve both domestic and international routes. With a seating configuration of 137 seats, including 12 in business class and 125 in economy, the aircraft will provide premium travel options for passengers.
AnimaWings is not just expanding flight options; it is striving to become a premium alternative for travelers. The airline offers three cabin classes: Business, Premium Economy, and Economy, and provides amenities such as free seat selection, cabin luggage, and both online and offline check-in.
The arrival of the A220-300 is just the beginning for AnimaWings. The airline has secured deliveries for 18 Airbus A220-300 aircraft, with four more joining the fleet in the first half of 2026. The remainder of the 18 aircraft will arrive in 2027. The total value of these aircraft is over USD 1 billion.
With this expansion, AnimaWings will operate 12 new routes by the end of 2025, strengthening domestic connectivity and linking Romania with key international destinations such as Istanbul, Munich, Prague, Sofia, Tel Aviv, Dubai, and Geneva. Starting in March 2026, a new direct route will connect Bucharest with Geneva.
AnimaWings' rapid growth has made it the fastest-expanding airline in Romania's aviation market in just one year. The airline's president, Marius Pandel, stated that the company's goal is not just to expand flight options but to put Romania on the European aviation map.
As AnimaWings continues to grow, it is positioning itself as a premium alternative for travelers. With its commitment to quality, service, and expansion, the airline is poised to make a significant impact on Romania's aviation industry and beyond.
