Deutsche Bahn (DB), Germany's national railway company, has announced the launch of a new seasonal ticket called the "44-Hour Ticket Young." This special offer is designed to cater to young travelers, specifically those aged 26 years or younger, seeking affordable and flexible travel options for short city trips or family visits during the summer months.

The ticket, priced at €44, offers 44 hours of unlimited travel on DB long-distance trains, including ICE (InterCity Express), Intercity (IC), Eurocity, Railjet, Railjet Express, TGV, and EC trains, all within Germany. The ticket's validity period is from 6:00 p.m. on Friday until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday throughout all weekends in July 2025.

The "44-Hour Ticket Young" is valid for travel in second class only and is exclusive to online bookings, available through the DB Navigator app or the official DB website (bahn.de) from June 30 to July 27, 2025. Seat reservations are not required, offering young travelers the flexibility to plan their trips on the go.

Stefanie Berk, Marketing and Sales Board Member at DB Long-Distance, stated that the offer is likely to be very attractive for the target group, providing an environmentally friendly, flexible, and spontaneous long-distance travel option at an economical price. However, it's important to note that the ticket is not valid in regional, local, or bus traffic, even in case of delays.

This initiative is not part of publicly funded discounts like the Deutschlandticket. The "44-Hour Ticket Young" aims to encourage young people to explore Germany by train, providing them with extensive travel opportunities over entire weekends at a reasonable cost, making it particularly attractive for spontaneous summer trips within the country.
