Opinions on a Successful Customs Office Open Day in Schweinfurt - Insights from the Schweinfurt Main Customs Office Open House Event

Last Saturday, the Main Customs Office Schweinfurt opened its doors to the public for an Open Day event. Over 800 visitors took the opportunity to observe the daily work of customs, participate actively, and converse with employees of the Schweinfurt customs office.

The highlight of the day was the enforcement unit demonstrations, showcasing control situations of the Financial Control Schwarzarbeit and the Control Unit Traffic Routes, as well as the working method of customs dogs. However, no new information about these demonstrations was provided.

Franziska Schubert, head of the Main Customs Office Schweinfurt, gave an opening speech, emphasizing the role of customs in Germany's security architecture, state financial capacity, crime fighting, citizen protection, economy, and environment protection. No new information about these areas was provided during the event.

Topics covered during the event included tax collection, species protection, customs duties, import and export clearance of goods, traffic and excise taxes, smuggling and undeclared work combat, customs' own inspection service, punishment of criminal offenses and administrative offenses, and a play area for the youngest guests.

In the coming years, the Main Customs Office Schweinfurt will offer training and study places for a future in the federal administration. Interested parties can apply for a position in the Main Customs Office Schweinfurt (middle and higher customs service) by October 15, 2025, for an appointment starting September 1, 2026.

The Main Customs Office Schweinfurt expressed satisfaction with the high citizen interest in their work and successfully concluded the event. Detailed information on applying, appointments, training, and study with customs can be found at www.zoll-karriere.de or www.zoll.de. Inquiries can be directed to the Press Office of the Main Customs Office Schweinfurt at [email protected], Benedikt Danz at Tel.: 09721/6464-1030, or visit www.zoll.de for more information.

Unfortunately, no new information about the daily work of customs or the opportunity for visitors to observe, participate, and converse with employees was given during the event. The search results do not provide the name of the official who led the main customs office in Schweinfurt before Franziska Schubert took office in 2025.
