Multiple Vehicles Collide, Causing Injuries to Five Individuals: Traffic Standstill for an Hour Following Rollover Accident

In an unfortunate incident on Wednesday evening, a multi-vehicle collision occurred on Autobahn 3 near Seligenstadt. The South East Hesse Police Highway Patrol is actively seeking more information from witnesses to clarify the course of the accident.

The accident involved five vehicles: an E-class car, a G-class vehicle, a BMW, a VW, and a C-class. According to preliminary investigations, the E-class car allegedly overtook the BMW and the VW on the right. In an attempt to overtake illegally, the E-class car moved across all lanes onto the hard shoulder but aborted the maneuver abruptly, switching back to the left and colliding with the G-class.

As a result of the collision, the G-class was pushed against the median barrier and flipped over, causing significant property damage. A total estimated cost of around 125,000 euros worth of damage has been reported. The accident resulted in five people being slightly injured.

The 32-year-old driver of the E-class is now being investigated for endangering road traffic. In a separate incident, a 53-year-old man from Wuppertal is under investigation for endangering road traffic, fleeing the scene, and suspected alcohol driving after causing an accident on September 6, 2025.

The South East Hesse Police Headquarters is seeking further information about both accidents. Witnesses can contact the Police Headquarters at 06181 9010-0, or they can contact the Press Office directly at the following numbers:
