Brussels to Host World's First Next-Generation LEGO Discovery Centre

After much anticipation, the long-awaited next-generation LEGO Discovery Centre (LDC) is set to open its doors on 24th June at Docks, Brussels. This milestone Centre will be the world's first of its kind, offering an exciting blend of 12 engaging zones.

The LEGO brick remains the focal point in the 3,000m2 Centre, providing endless opportunities for creativity. According to the LEGO Discovery Centre Brussels, "Welcome to our new LEGO Discovery Centre in Brussels. Here, you and your family can craft your own adventures with over two million bricks."

The new Centre houses a myriad of experiences, ranging from traditional building areas to workshops and a 4D cinema. Guests are invited to embark on an adventure aboard the Imagination Express, journeying through an oversized LEGO world. Alternatively, they can immerse themselves in an amazing 4D sensory cinema experience.

In Mini World, visitors can marvel at reimagined versions of famous landmarks and scenes, built meticulously from LEGO bricks. Additionally, they can participate in workshops to enhance their building skills and in the Build Adventures area dedicated to LEGO play and creation.

As a bustling city teeming with families, Brussels serves as the ideal location for the European capital's consumers to indulge in their passion for LEGO. Justin Platt, chief strategy officer at Merlin Entertainments, the Centre's operator, agreed, stating, "The European capital is the ideal place to offer consumers the opportunity to delight in their passion for LEGO."

The Brussels LDC will be led by Sieber Burteel, the newly crowned Master Model Builder from Lubbeek, who became the first Belgian to win this accolade last month. Burteel will guide visitors through the fun zones and conduct numerous workshops to share his expertise as a Master Builder. Approximately 40 to 45 individuals will join Burteel at the LDC to manage guided tours and other activities.
