Jason Momoa Emerges as DC Universe's Lobo Character

He's been pushing for it nearly as long as he's been Aquaman, and now, Jason Momoa is finally receiving his delayed present: the actor will swap DC's oceans for its skies as he takes on the role of interstellar bounty hunter, Lobo.

According to Deadline, Momoa will debut as Lobo in the upcoming cosmic Supergirl movie, titled Woman of Tomorrow, featuring House of the Dragon's Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El. Although Momoa didn't specify the exact timeline or location of his appearance, he confirmed the news in an Instagram post featuring a screenshot from a past quote, now accompanied by the straightforward caption "they called."

Momoa won't be the first actor to transition from the old DC cinematic universe to James Gunn and Peter Safran's new DCU, but he's undoubtedly the most notable so far, shifting from a previous Justice League member to whatever role we'll see him embody as Lobo. Gunn had previously hinted that Lobo would be a character we'd eventually encounter in this new universe—whether it's in supporting positions like Woman of Tomorrow or expanding into either a standalone film or TV series, remains to be discovered. However, it's encouraging to see at least one former DC actor achieve their goal under the new management.

We'll keep you informed about James Gunn's plans for the DCU as more information becomes available.
