The Star Trek franchise on Paramount+ is expanding in January with the addition of "Star Trek: Section 31" on the 24th. Starring Michelle Yeoh reprising her role as Emperor Philippa Georgiou from "Star Trek: Discovery", this 14th film and first TV movie sets Yeoh's character in the confines of the secret Section 31, a unit tasked with safeguarding the United Federation of Planets. The storyline falls between the "Star Trek: The Original Series films" and the "Star Trek: The Next Generation" series.

New shows debuting in January include a revival of the celebrated game show "Hollywood Squares" (Jan. 9) hosted by Nate Burleson and Drew Barrymore, and "Watson" (Jan. 26), a medical and investigative drama featuring Morris Chestnut as Sherlock Holmes' companion in the wake of the detective's demise.

Paramount+ with Showtime members can tune into the live broadcast of the Golden Globe Awards on Jan. 5, while Paramount+ subscribers gain access to CBS's NFL coverage in January, including the Wild Card game (Jan. 11 or 12), the AFC divisional playoff game (Jan. 18 or 19), and the AFC championship (Jan. 26).
