Horse-Loving Traveler Jennifer Sims Finds Paradise at Monte Velho Eco Resort in Portugal

Equestrian style and travel blogger Jennifer Sims recently enjoyed an 'unforgettable experience' at the Monte Velho Eco Resort in Portugal. The resort, operated by the Lima Mayer family since 1994, offers a unique blend of luxury and equestrian activities. Nestled on a Lusitano breeding farm, the Monte Velho Eco Resort spans 250 hectares of a National Ecological Reserve. Sims explored the surrounding trails on horseback, describing it as a paradise she didn't want to leave. The resort boasts ultra-modern architecture and design, along with luxury amenities such as a gym, spa, swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, and bar. Many guests return multiple times, drawn to the resort's combination of relaxation and adventure. Guests can enjoy traditional Portuguese dishes and wine in a formal dining room overlooking the Olympic-sized outdoor arena. This fosters a sense of camaraderie among horse-loving adventurers. Sims, who works with brands like Ariat and Horseware, shared her experience with her social media followers at @eqglobetrotter. She rode schoolmasters and received instruction from Coralie Baldrey, who also trains Monte Velho's main competition rider João Torrão. Sims, a jumper rider with little dressage experience, found the dressage lessons challenging yet rewarding. The Lima Mayer family has been breeding top Lusitano horses at Monte Velho since 1994. They have produced many award-winning horses, including their star stallion Equador MVL. Jennifer Sims' stay at the Monte Velho Eco Resort in Portugal was marked by her exploration of the surrounding Eco Reserve on horseback and her dressage lessons. The resort's unique combination of luxury, equestrian activities, and traditional Portuguese cuisine makes it a standout destination for horse-loving travelers.
