Holidays spent camping promote both environmental friendliness and happiness
In a study conducted by the Deutscher Caravaning Handels-Verband (DCHV) in 2022, involving 4,000 caravaners, it was found that a significant majority of campers reported higher levels of well-being compared to the general population.
The study, titled "Caravaning and Well-being," revealed that 79% of campers described themselves as "happy and cheerful," compared to 69% of the general population. Moreover, 75% of campers agreed with the statement "I am happy," compared to 64% of the rest of the respondents. An even more striking difference was observed when it came to the statement "My daily life is full of things that interest me," with 75% of campers agreeing, compared to 63% of the general population.

International expert Anne-Katrin Schwanitz discusses various aspects of camper vehicle usage, including loading, tire care, vehicle checks, safety with gas bottles and camp stoves, fire protection, finding the right campsite, and insurance coverage for van life.
Maximilian Moehrle, managing director of camping.info, commented that the difference of 12 percentage points underscores the positive impact of camping on the well-being of campers. The study by market research institute GfK in 2022 further supports this finding, with campers reporting a significantly higher level of well-being than the general population.
