Celebrating Cultural Diversity: The Festival of Cultures in Ingolstadt
In the heart of Germany, the city of Ingolstadt is set to host its annual Festival of Cultures, a vibrant event that celebrates the rich tapestry of cultures that call the city home. This year, the festival is scheduled for the 26th and 27th of July.
The festival, which is supported by Audi, takes place on the Danube embankment and surrounding areas. The aroma of specialties from various parts of the world permeates the festival grounds, inviting visitors to embark on a culinary journey.
Mayor Dr. Michael Kern, Xavier Ross (Head of Personnel at Audi), and Jörg Schlagbauer welcomed the guests at the opening ceremony, delivering a multilingual, heartfelt welcome that expressed the spirit of the event. Integration Officer Ingrid Gumplinger, along with representatives of all participating cultural associations, also welcomed guests in their respective native languages.
Everywhere at the festival, laughter, creativity, and experimentation filled the air. The colorful children's program featured artists, button-making, flower arranging, and creative activities, providing a space for the younger generation to explore and express their cultural heritage.
The Festival of Cultures in Ingolstadt is more than just a showcase of cultural performances and culinary experiences. In addition to the Festival of Cultures, there is also a related 5-day cultural celebration organized by Indian Nomads In Ingolstadt e.V. from the 27th to the 31st of August, at Exerzierhaus Ingolstadt in Klenzepark, focusing more specifically on Indian culture and community devotion.
