In a bold move to solidify its position as a global aviation powerhouse, Dubai World Central - Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) is set to undergo an extensive expansion. The long-term vision for this airport is to transform it into the world's largest, significantly boosting capacity and redefining airport infrastructure and passenger experience.

**Capacity Expansion**
The airport is projected to become the largest passenger airport, with a capacity of over 240 million passengers annually, surpassing Dubai International Airport (DXB) as the primary aviation hub. To accommodate this increase, the airport will be expanded from a single runway to five parallel runways, ensuring increased air traffic capacity.
**Infrastructure Development**
The expansion includes the construction of new terminals—west and east processing terminals—and satellite concourses with 400 aircraft stands.
