Disney's Star Wars Lightsaber Experience undergoes its initial upgrade

Get ready for some major Star Wars action at the Disneyland Resort's Season of the Force special event! Buckle up as Galaxy's Edge becomes a hotspot for new arrivals, including the highly anticipated meet and greet with Luke Skywalker. That's right, the Jedi Master's shadowy presence has been confirmed to grace Batuu for a limited time, making a pit stop on his celestial journey. Even better news for West Coast folks – this Luke Skywalker encounter is exclusive to Disneyland!

But wait, there's more! Savi's Workshop is also getting a new act, swapping out the previous lightsaber "scraps" for a fresh set of intergalactic parts. The grand reveal of these scavenged pieces will occur on May the Fourth, leading to a whole new build storyline in "Reclaimed and Reforged." And, can you believe the lightsaber training from the Galactic Starcruiser could potentially join the lineup as part of this experience? Fingers crossed!

As if that wasn't enough, a new projection addition to the fireworks show will be lighting up Batuu's main hub. When "Fire of the Rising Moons" returns on March 28, it will take park guests on an epic new journey with "Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga." This immersive nighttime extravaganza features projection effects that revamp Batuu's spires, an iconic musical score crafted from the Star Wars film soundtrack, and some legendary moments you won't want to miss.

So, grab your lightsaber and hold onto your rebels! By day, enjoy the Season of the Force park-wide experiences and by night, check out the exclusive Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite event. This after-hours party features Star Wars-themed entertainment and character meet and greets, so you can test your Ewok-whispering skills!

With new popcorn buckets, merch galore, and the return of Hyperspace Mountain in Tomorrowland, there's no shortage of Star Wars fun at Disneyland. If the Disney+ series Skeleton Crew has you hooked, maybe even Star Tours will receive a destination upgrade to make room for the kid crew. If Garakkwenn and crew aren't quite enough for you, fear not! Additional Marvel, Star Wars, Star Trek, and Doctor Who releases await you just a few clicks away on io9. May the Force be with you!
