Spontaneous, Stress-Free Weddings - A Church Initiative in Rhineland-Palatinate 💕
The Evangelical Church in Hesse and Nassau orchestrated an action on the weekend that brought a touch of Las Vegas to Rhineland-Palatinate. Spontaneous weddings were conducted in 30 churches across the region, offering couples the chance to tie the knot in a whimsical, hassle-free ceremony.
One such example is the Roller family – not just Michael Roller and his wife but also his parents were spontaneously blessed by the church in Hachenburg. Approximately 35 other couples joined them in Hachenburg on Sunday.

Zoo Landau Welcomes Five Healthy Wolfdog Puppies
Zoo Landau celebrates a remarkable feat – five wolfdog pups, born in April, are now confirmed to be healthy. Four are females, while the remaining one is a male. The endangered wild animals were born blind and spent their first weeks with their parents in a small cave. This is a significant milestone for Zoo Landau. Wolfdogs are rarely born in zoos and are kept at just 50 facilities throughout Europe.

The city council of Nassau on Lahn has agreed to a twin city partnership with Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas. The eventual exchange of certificates is scheduled to take place in the Bahamas in 2026.

Legendary coach Jürgen Klopp was honored with the "Fair Play Award of German Sports" in Wiesbaden. The prestigious accolade acknowledges exceptional acts and initiatives that embody noble sportsmanship, integrity, and a commitment to fair play principles in sports. Klopp was lauded for his sportsmanship when he publicly acknowledged his successor, singing his name loudly with the fans after his last game as coach of Liverpool FC.
"I don't know if I behaved particularly fairly," Klopp said during the ceremony. "But I acted absolutely rightly, and I gladly accept this award."

Jetski Rider Search Resolved Successfully
An extensive search operation was conducted on the Rhine near Mainz after a report of a missing woman who had gone jet skiing with her husband. The husband, who had traveled ahead, turned to the water police for help when he couldn't locate his wife near Rheininsel Rettbergsaue in Mainz. The woman was found waiting for her husband in Ginsheim, having overtaken her husband during their joint ride.
