Commencing flights from Istanbul to Seville: Turkish Airlines initiates service

Budget airline AJet is set to join the ranks of airlines offering flights to Spain, with the announcement of a new route between Ankara and Barcelona, starting from October 24. This move comes as Turkish Airlines, a long-standing player in the Spanish market, continues to expand its presence in the country.

Turkish Airlines has been operating flights to Spain for over 30 years, with its operations beginning in 1984. Initially, the airline started with flights to Madrid, and over the years, it has added several Spanish destinations to its route map, including Malaga, Valencia, Bilbao, and more recently, Barcelona.

In addition to the Ankara-Barcelona route, Turkish Airlines also operates flights to four different cities in Spain four days a week. One of these cities is Seville, where the airline has launched a new daily service from Istanbul. This service will be operated using the modern Airbus A321 neo aircraft.

The new Seville route is significant not only for Turkish Airlines but also for tourists, as Seville is home to several iconic landmarks. The Royal Alcazar palace, La Giralda bell tower, and Seville Cathedral are all listed on the UNESCO World Heritage list, making Seville a must-visit destination for history and culture enthusiasts.

The Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, announced the newly launched Istanbul-Seville route by Turkish Airlines. He highlighted the deep historical ties between Turkey and Spain as a key factor in strengthening this new flight route.

Currently, Turkish Airlines operates 91 scheduled flights per week from Istanbul Airport to Spain. With the addition of the new Ankara-Barcelona route and the daily service between Istanbul and Seville, these numbers are expected to increase.

Meanwhile, Budget airline AJet is set to make its mark in the Spanish market, offering affordable air travel options for passengers looking to explore Spain's rich culture and history. With the airline's entry into the market, competition is expected to heat up, offering more choices and potentially lower fares for travellers.
