Ari Emanuel Launches MARI Holding Company for Innovative Fan Experiences
Ari Emanuel, CEO of TKO and executive chairman of WME Group, has launched a new holding company called MARI. The company aims to create innovative ways for audiences to share their passions through sports, art, lifestyle, and entertainment. RedBird Capital will provide business building expertise, given their leadership in sports and live event entertainment.
MARI's investors include prominent names such as Apollo, RedBird Capital Partners, Qatar Investment Authority, and various private equity and venture capital firms. Notably, athletes like Luka Dončić, Anthony Edwards, and Sabrina Ionescu have also invested in the company. MARI's executive team comprises Mark Shapiro as a principal investor and board member, Matt Cohn as Managing Partner, and Ben Enowitz as CFO.
MARI's portfolio includes Frieze, an arts organization, and a majority stake in Barrett-Jackson, an automotive auction house. Apollo Sports Capital will work with MARI to explore additional opportunities in live events and experiences. MARI houses significant tennis tournaments, including the Miami Open and Mutua Madrid Open, with the Miami Open acquisition involving the ownership group behind the Miami Dolphins and Hard Rock Stadium. Barrett-Jackson founder Craig Jackson remains in his role.
